Rotary Club of Pago Pago Minutes of Regular Meeting held on Fri., Sept. 27, 2013, Sadie’s By the Sea

Present: Pres Dennis Welborn, IPP Jackie Young, Lenita Pritchard, Jim Mahoney, Billy Young, Joe Yandal, Tom Drabble, Joe Weilenman, Peter Cripin, Margie Tafiti, Bill Maxey,Hobbs Lowson, Roy Hall, Rven Garcia, Tom Atkinson, Chris Bullinger

Jim has updated Rotary membership list and magazine subscription so if you still don’t receive one let him know.

BBQ Shelter for Tsunami
Peter has painted bbq shelter and seesaw at playground fixed. Faafetai Peter!
Discussed chores for shelter event. Done.

Swimming Pool
Joe W reported on swimming pool. Director of Commerce very supportive of project and says there is funding availbale. Many applicants but Rotary has an actual plan on hand which is a plus. Public Works to put in storm drains so will need to make adjustments to plan. They will hold a meeting when Director gets back.

Jim has ordered dictionaries and they may be released early.Internal shipping costs included. Bill to organize shipping to AS.

Hope House
All items ordered. To be shipped down by ICS.

X-Mas Trees
Bill Maxey has ordered X-Mas trees which are scheduled to arrive Nov. 24th.

Billy advises calendar now ready for marketing. If everyone could do their bit in buying or selling some calendars to friends or businesses. 4500 calendars to sell. Already sold 1500. If you would like advertising on bottom of calendar for family pics, etc. please talk to Jason Pritchard. Any questions re: calendar purchases ask Billy, Jason or Margie.

Angel Rings
Jackie has arranged printing on Angel Rings. Need to place one at Utulei.

Interact Club
Tom says strong interest from South Pacific Academy to reactivate Interact Club. Jim to forward info to Tom on charter.

Isabel Hudson of Lions club spoke about their mobile eye clinic which will be stationed at the Market every First Friday of the month.Lions Club invites Rotary to participate in manning mobile van as a “working together” venture. Rotarians are able to wear Rotary shirts or vests. First one will be on the 4th of November.

Meeting this week at Sadies Inn 12:15.
